The fact that the Fourth Fleet had some 600 vessels (as stated by Commander Kronus in "Take the Celestra") in my view is the biggest indication that the Colonials used more than just Battlestars. But 600 ships is one hell of a fleet!
Assuming that a large percentage are support ships (although would it? The Battlestars tended to operate without support (the Pegasus did for two years), are we to assume that this is the norm for Colonial ships?), then that would still leave some 3-400 ships.
Now I am also assuming that Vipers were not included in this figure, which I think is a fair assumption as they are not included in the counting for the Galactica fleet.
In which case that is a lot of ships, and I do not believe that the Colonials had that many Battlestars. If they did, what the hell do the Cylons have??!

In any case we are looking at some huge battles here...
