As every ship needs a crew to allow it to function, a ship also needs sensors, scanner and a damage control rating to allow it to see, act and repair itself. These ratings are based solely on the size and type of warship they are to be mounted to.

Use the following table to determine the amount of boxes that the sensor, scanner and damage control will take up, and then use the following table to determine the exact ratings of the boxes.

Note that these boxes are not counted towards the boxes on the SSD as they are not systems as such.

While you are restricted as to the size of your Sensor, Scanner and Damage Control boxes, you do not have to have the Damage Control boxes the same size as the Scanner or Sensor boxes. However, Sensor and Scanner must be of equal size.

Early years ships generally have values at the lower end of the spectrum.
