Fighters and Small Craft (shuttles mainly), is where the Ship Design Guidelines fall down. In fact, they fall down so much that there are not any guidelines at the moment to designing small craft.
Instead, you are urged to follow the examples already given in the pages, and extrapolate your designs from there.
Once you've done that though, you can use the following formula to determine the BPV of the craft.
Use the following costs and then divide the total by 5 (rounding up). Flights costs are then worked out by multiplying the basic fighter cost by 8.
While this works for fighters, it does not do so well for shuttles, especially special role shuttles. It is probably best to use SFB shuttles (with suitable modifications) if you have to have more variants.
| Component | Points cost |
|---|---|
| Per Damage Points | 1 point |
| Per Sensor Box | 10 |
| Fighter Weapons | 1 |
| Per 6 points of Speed | 1 |
| Turbos | 1 |
| Ace Pilot | *0.5 the cost of the fighter |
Fighter Weapons means the special rules for fighters included in this conversion. For larger fighters or shuttles with ordinary weapons, use the values found for ordinary large ships.
