Introduction (2k)

The Fleet Combat System (FCS) is a set of rules that recreates the vast fleet actions that occured during the desperate struggle between the Colonials and Cylons during the Thousand Yahren War. The rules are intended to be quick and uncomplicated, yet allowing for lot of flexibility and tactical play.

Watching the fleet (8k)

Each counter represents a single captial ship or flight of fighters. There are rules for command and control, although not to the extent that it would take over everything else. Instead, Command and control is more of a convenience than a necessity, after all, ships have sensors that can scan an entire star system and with powerful computers and able commanders, being out of contact with a fleet commander is not life threatening.

The system as presnted here gives you everything you need to recreate the climatic battles between the forces of the Colonials and the Cylons. For a typical squadron of Colonial ships versus a single Cylon Basestar, the game takes about 3 quarters of an hour to play.

And then the Fourth and Fifth Fleets of the Colonies can once more be engaged in glorious battle against the Cylon Empire!

To be able to play this game, you will need a copy of the rules, counters to represent all the ships, fighters and effects in play, a handful of six-sided dice and ship data sheets to record the information and damage for all ships. With the exception of the dice, all components can be found on this website.

Master Ship Charts:

The Master Ship Charts are a collection of all ships within our BSG universe, with statistics from all expansion rules, including electronic warfare and mine warfare. As such, if you just use the basic rules, you will find that some ships has differing abilities and differing point costs.
