Weapons, armour and power are not the only things that a decent duellist needs in the water, no, he need everything else that Crimson Shipyards produce too!

IMPROVED! Periscopes:
Unleash the true potential of a Periscope!
These may be equipped with land based systems for sighting, such as IRSS and the like. However these systems only operate when the periscope is active and above water. Targeting lasers (and thus laser guidance) may be installed in periscopes.

Periscope buoys:
Run silent, run deep. But how far can you run deep and still see what's on the surface when you're there? Periscopes don't extend that far! So the boys at Crimson R&D have come up with these beauties. Small plastic buoys that connect to your sub through a long lightweight fibre optic cable, and then you can have the best of both worlds!
Periscope buoys: The buoy is $1,000, 20 lbs, 1/2 space. The cable is $200, 10 lbs + $10 and 1 lb per 5 foot of cable, with a maximum of 6,000 feet. Upto 1,000 feet of cable takes 1/2 space, 1,001-2,500 feet takes 1 space, and 2,501-6,000 feet takes 2 spaces.
These are small floating buoys that are connected to the sub through a fibre optic sheath. The fibre optic link is much greater in length than a standard periscope, and the buoy may function as a standard periscope/communication pole (although it uses small tv cameras instead of standard visual means). The buoy may be jettisoned. It has to be winched in when not in use, or winched out, the winch is included in the cost and weight above, and reels cable in at the rate of 10 feet per second. The sheath can be targeted (-10 and has 2 DP (which must be scored in one attack), although a collision will automatically sever it) The buoy may be targeted at -4, and has 2 DP. While deployed, the sub may not travel greater than 10 mph or perform a manoeuvre greater than D1. If it does, the cable won't break, but the disturbance will make the buoy useless until it has calmed down.

OPTION: Now add a Helium balloon to those buoys and let them soar in the air, giving much greater coverage than before!
Helium balloon option: +$500, +30lbs, +1/2 space. The Balloon cell has 5DP. Once the buoy is on the surface, the balloon inflates automatically (taking 20 seconds) and then the balloon lifts the buoy out of the water at normal rates (as listed in Aeroduel). The tether is still the fibre optic sheath, so its not as strong as a normal tether, but is much harder to hit (same rules as above). In game terms the balloon probably has little effect, but its purpose is to increase visibility, line of sight and spotting capability of the periscope buoy.

IMPROVED! Hydrofoils:
True, it's cool to cruise beneath the seas, but it's also cool to cruise the surf and eye up the talent while looking good too, so install some hydrofoils on your sub today, and fly the friendly seas!
Hydrofoils: As per normal rules (UACFH pg 127), a sub may mount hydrofoils for increased speed on the surface. To be able to use them, the sub must be able to do at least 35 mph on the surface taking into consideration the speed decrease for surfacing. All bonuses through the use of hydrofoils are added to the decreased surface speed of the sub.
[House note: I think that hydrofoils deserve a slight clarification with regard to torpedoes hitting them. Normal torpedoes (non-proximity fuse) hitting the hydrofoil counter (when in hydrodoil mode) hit the boat on a roll of 1 on 1d6. If it misses, it passes right through the counter. Proximity fuse torpedoes hit normally when within 1/4". Both damage the underbody armour of the boat.]

Distress beacon:
The worst thing that can happen to you in a sub is that it can sink leaving you stranded on the bottom with no hope of rescue. Don't let that happen to you with this handy Rescue Me! Distress Beacon. When you feel you're going, hit that emergency button and let everyone know where you are!
Distress beacon: $500, 20 lbs, no space. When the beacon is activated (taking a firing action), it broadcasts a powerful SOS which lights up on Sonar and sub communications (emergency channel) in a radius of 5 miles. The beacon has its own power supply which lasts one hour, or it can tap into the subs powerplant drawing 1 PU per 30 minutes.

Distress buoy:
When merely an underwater distress beacon won't work, you need the Rescue Me! Distress Buoy! This cutie floats to the surface, and as well as broadcasting on sonar and sub communication wave lengths, it also shows up on Radar and radios! Let everyone know where you are!
Distress buoy: $1,250, 75 lbs, 1 space, 2 DP. When activated, the buoy floats to the surface (at 1" per phase) where it will then broadcast the downed subs location on sonar, radar, sub communications and normal radio. The power supply lasts 5 hours, and the range is 5 miles underwater, and 25 miles over land.

Retractable manoeuvre foils:
Manoeuvre foils are great for when you're using them, like when you're underwater or flying in the air, but what happens if you're in a situation that can't make use of them, then they're just targets waiting to happen. Until now! It's available for wheelguards, brushcutters - even turrets! So now, when you don't want to use them, put them away!
Retractable manoeuvre foils: $300, 50 lbs, 1 space per foil, plus the cost and weight of the foils themselves. Retracting or extending foils is a firing action and takes one second to do. When retracted they are protected by the vehicles armour.
