Who can forget the divers, those little plankton amongst the sharks of the seas, but watch out, with some assistance from yours truly, our little plankton have sharp teeth!
We've done it again! Yes, we've taken another great item from the surface world, and modified it to be used underwater... Aren't you just glad you chose us?
Foxer Limpet Mine: $350, 1 GE, 2 lbs. Functions as a standard limpet beacon, but is tuned into the sonar frequencies, and thus will only attract weapons based on sonar (such as homing torpedoes).
If you were on the ground, you would have a wide range of options available to you in regards to what you want to throw at an opponent, but underwater your options are a bit limited. So, here's where we change all that and introduce the portable torpedo!
Portable torpedo: $100, 5 GE, 40 lbs, damage 1D+2. Basically this is a stripped down Micro Torpedo adapted for man portable use, and as such it uses as torpedo rules and may have any standard torpedo options (such as high velocity and homing).
Waterproof weapons: $25% of the weapons unloaded cost. Any weapon that can't fire underwater (BG lasers, torpedoes, spearguns) may be waterproofed so that they will operate correctly when out of the water. They still won't be able to function in the water though.
Power packs must also be made waterproof for the same prices too, or else they will short circuit on contact with water.
The same goes for other bits of equipment, obviously discretion should be used as not everything will have to be made waterproof. Basically any weapons or equipment using power should be waterproof, or anything that the players and referee's know wouldn't react well to water.
Lets face it, when diving underwater, the last thing you want is to run out of air, or let some swine hole your one and only airtank. This is considered a bad thing. Well, don't let this happen to you, get one of our auxiliary airtanks today, and feel secure in the knowledge that you'll never run out of air when you need it!
Auxillary airtank: $50 (recharge $5), 7 lbs. An auxiliary airtank is an emergency tank that is strapped somewhere on the diver (sometimes next to the main tank, sometimes on the waist belt), which comes into operation when the main tank stops working for whatever reason. It has only twenty minutes on air in it, and if hit, will lose it's air immediately due to the higher pressure that it is in. The tank itself will never be hit by standard gunfire. It may only carry a 1 DP armoured sleeve for protection.
Underwater can be dark, foreboding, and hey, we've all seen the films where the lowly diver gets eaten, mutilated and generally mauled by unseen beast simply because they couldn't see where they were supposed to be. Well, don't let it happen to you, try our new flares and get seen!
Flares come in two varieties - standard ($10, 1 lb., burns for 3 minutes in a 10' radius) and quick burn ($15, 1 lb., burns for 1 minute in a 15' radius). When in use, flares are a one-handed item.
Flares are mainly used when there is no other light source around and are more emergency measures than anything else. They give light in a 360 degree arc around the diver, but due to the burning proximity, outside this arc the normal -3 darkness modifiers apply, and then outside of the normal 100% visibility if the diver, the -6 modifier is in effect. Flares are good at providing light, and will always provide 10' of light regardless of the water.
It's nice to sail, and it's better when you bring your best pal with you too. But what happens if (shock of all horrors) something happens and you have to bail out? What happens to mans best friend then? Well, worry no longer, for we have floatation aids for anyone, from pets to your wife and kids!
Pet floatation device: $20, 3 lbs. This device is strapped around the animal (taking at least 30 seconds depending on how active the animal is), and will allow any animal of 100 lbs. or less to remain buoyant and floating on the water. If used underwater, then it will raise the animal at 1/4" per turn (phase 3) until the animal breaches the surface. There is no air supply with the device though, so the animal will have to hold it's breath (which is probably about a minutes worth depending on the animal).
When you're just out for a little jaunt under the waves, but you don't want to carry your air tanks with you, then a snorkel is just the thing! Keep under, but keep safe!
Snorkal: $20, 2 lbs. The snorkel allows a diver underwater to breathe without coming to the surface for extended periods of time. A snorkel however, will not function under 25' at all.
