With the official histories from the Car Wars and GURPS products (from the annuals of ADQ, White Dwarf magazine, GURPS Autoduel 2nd Edition) that have described the world - and the United Kingdom - in some detail, why have I decided to go over the heads of the official line to do my own thing?

Good question. I shall explain.

To me, Car Wars is all about fun and cars and guns - and I hope this is right for most people - and for a lot of countries in the world, this is true. Unfortunately for the UK, the history line goes that ours is a strict country and autoduelling is illegal.

Whilst this might have some basis in fact, to me - and no discredit to any of the writers of this material, it's good stuff - I don't want to have to run all my adventures and games in another country. True, it's fun to run a game in that setting, but it's not fun to be against the law all the time. Like in other countries, I want Car Wars to be a way of life.

So, I changed it. And here is the result.
Naturally this will mean that certain elements of the official Car Wars background are invalid, but there are work arounds for everything.

Because it's taking me a while to get on with most of the towns and villages in the UK, if you want to help and write a section about your area, then please do and I will be happy to put it up on the website with all credits.
