Formula One Race Changes
Construction

Each car has 40 points to spend on it, and 2 additional Wear Points for pit stops. Any points that are not spent on car construction may be saved as Wear Points for pit stops.

1 lap race cars have 20 points, while 2 lap race cars have 30 points (with 1 additional Wear points for the pits) to spend on construction.

  • Gunners are not allowed in Formula One vehicles.
  • Weapons can only be placed in two arcs - forward and back.
  • Dropped weapons may be side mounted however.
  • Only small turrets may be mounted in Formula One cars.

A car that spends 26 to 35 points is considered Ladened. A car that spends 36+ points is considered Overweight.

Two seater Formula One cars:
on the 11th July 1998, a two seater Formula One was revealed to the public (I would love to think that it was designed specifically for Murray Walker, but I think thats just me romanticising) at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Now, the car wasn't used in the race, and I believe thats its a training vehicle, but it does show that the possibility of two seater cars exist, and by extension it is therefore possibly to mount gunners in these vehicles.
If you want to add gunners, you have to get approval from all players (and if you're playing a combat season, you therefore have to figure this out before the season starts), and the following special rules apply. Due to the lack of space in the vehicle, a gunner may only be a gunner. Unlike in other vehicles where if a driver was incapacitated, the gunner would be able to lean over and grab the wheel, in a Formula One car, there is no chance of that happening.. Thus a gunner may perform no special actions.

Important Safety Tip!
Remember that if you use all your construction points on your car, then you will only have 1 or 2 wear points for the pits. It has been our experience that a car with no wear points for the pits has a better time initially (sometimes), but afterwards it is at a significant disadavantage... This is especially true on three lap races.
