Pit Stops house rule
In Formula 1, races can be won and lost in the pits, and with Formula Dé the same is also true. You can win or lose a race due to a good or terrible pit stop. However, the English translation of the rules aren't too clear about leaving a pit stop. They seem to suggest that when you enter your pit lane, you roll the black die to see how many (if any) LPs you get back, and then if you're allowed to go, you immediately roll the 3rd Gear die to get away. If this is right, then you could be making up a lot of spaces and somehow gaining spaces from making a pit stop.

We don't think this is a great idea, so we've come up with a house ruling that goes as follows.

You enter the pits as normal and you roll the black die to see how many LPs (if any) you gain back. If you're allowed to leave, you have to declare whether you're going to leave the pits or stay in the pits for a further turn. If you declare that you're leaving, you don't leave this turn. On your next turn you'll roll the 3rd Gear die and make your exit. If you stay in the pits for a further turn, you roll the black die, recover some LPs and then make your declaration to leave. If you're leaving, you'll leave on your next turn.
Once you make a declaration to stay or leave, you're bound by it for next turn, you can't suddenly change your mind.

This means that making a pit stop will end your current turn, meaning that you can't gain spaces from a stop. We find that this makes the game a bit more tactical and a lot more fun.
